Edward I. O’Brien III is Chairman of Sophis Investments LLC. Mr. O’Brien has over 37 years financial industry experience in a variety of management roles. Mr. O’Brien began his career at Prudential Bache Securities, where he spent 20 years in Fixed Income, eventually becoming Senior Vice President and Director of Government Agency underwriting & trading. Mr. O’Brien then spent eight years at Keefe, Bruyette and Woods as Executive Vice President & member of the firm’s Management Committee. After KBW, Mr. O’Brien joined Guggenheim Securities as Managing Director, and later M&R Capital Management, an SEC-registered investment adviser for four years. Mr. O’Brien served on the board of advisors of Alexander Capital L.P., a registered broker-dealer. Mr. O’Brien is involved in a variety of charitable and philanthropic endeavors, including as former trustee of Fordham Preparatory School, Chairman of Fordham University’s President’s Council, and Chairman of the leadership committee of the Archdiocese of New York’s Cardinal’s Appeal. Mr. O’Brien was born in New York, NY. He earned an undergraduate degree from Fordham University.
